Car Birthday Party

It was that time again. Another birthday came and went and now we have a five year old! This year’s theme request was a car birthday party.

Car Birthday Décor

This year I wanted to make more items for his car birthday party. I knew I wanted a spot where I could get some nice birthday pictures. For this I made a semi truck out of poster board, aluminum foil and tape.  I also made some road signs to go along with the truck.

My son really wanted a piñata for his car birthday party. Using a box, some streamers, a table cloth and glue I was able to create a traffic light piñata. I also made some flag shaped banners and clouds. I used a toy plane that he already had as a decoration. I also used his cars for the table decoration and created a road out of masking tape and a black table cloth from Dollar Tree.

At Dollar tree I found a construction themed happy birthday banner as well as some vehicle cut outs. I had balloons already and blew some up to create the space above the banner.

Birthday Food

I didn’t need an entire display of food so we didn’t have much car themed food. I did try my hand at making some themed pancakes for his car birthday party. My husband made the cake and decorated it using some vehicle toys. We also asked our son what he wanted for lunch and dinner and enjoyed some tasty food.

Car Birthday Party Activities

To go with his car themed birthday party I scoured Pinterest and tried to come up with activities that were related to vehicles he likes such as fire trucks, police cars, and garbage trucks. We didn’t get through all of the activities but we did a big chunk and had full day of fun. My favorite was watching him solve clues to find his presents. He said he really like the obstacle course.

  • Find the presents
  • Obstacle course
  • Decorate a plane
  • Trash race
  • Red light, green light
  • Flying foam planes through a hoop
  • Spoon race with toy cars
  • Guess how many cars
  • Pool dive for cars
  • Traffic light piñata

I hope I inspired you, if you are looking to do a car themed birthday party for your little one. We had a great time making the day magical and spending time with our son. If you need mermaid or underwater birthday party ideas check out my mermaid themed birthday blog post here.
